yellow belly bow
« on: November 29, 2013, 01:00:00 PM »
A friend of mine wanted a yellow and black bow to match the fletching he always uses on his arrows. Here is the final product.
I used yellowheart instead of osage in an effort to keep the yellow color.
Yellowheart and african blackwood with a bloodwood stripe flanked with grey actionwood. I did a buck print inlay with bloodwood. the limb veneers are flatgrain osage actionwood. It almost resembles bamboo where the grains are visible.
 60" bow, 46#@28"
Thanks for taking a look! Mike

Thanks for the comments guys!
I forgot to mention I bought the matching string from Josh Sowerby at strings by Oliverstacery on the sponsors classifieds.
It's a D-10 and it is fast and quiet! Josh did an excellent job with very fast turnaround!

That's awesome!  I've always thought yellow and black look good together on a bow.
