I have used a wool blanket and also a sleeping bag. Pull the bag up and sit down. Works great to keep feet and legs warm.

I'm feeling like a sissy, it was -4 this morning in NE Washington so we folded up the tent and called it a season ... home  now in front of the fire with a tear in my eye, but a smile on my face as another season closes .. it was a great year in the hunting woods with good friends, fun & laughter, and many memories made...  Happy Holidays to all

Dave's talking celcius tho. It was -20 F here this morning, warmed up to a balmy 0F for my evening sit. Last day so ya have to get out.   :dunno:
It's really simple. Just don't take those borderline shots. Tomorrow is another day.

Has anyone ever had luck on a very cold morning in late bow season? In my experience, late season bow is typically only productive on "nicer" days and/or towards dusk, when temps are at about their highest of the day. And late season seems only productive when near a good food source, to boot. I've basically given up on bitter cold mornings because I never see anything. My property is in a very heavily pressured area and the local herd gets pounded in early bow season, firearms season and now muzzleloader season.

I am not above putting a cat heater in a pop up blind at those temps.

I have a heater body suit, Waldrop pacseat, and a bunch of hand warmers. We have 14 inches of snow and temps in the teens which is a lot warmer than some of you guys! By the way, that bodysuit is one of the best purchases I have ever made.

Snow depth in the yooper around Escanaba is 4 to 6 inches and frozen on top.  My dogs don't make a dent in the snow when they are outside in the backyard.  I had an 8 pointer on camera today that has dropped his left antler already.  This is a few weeks early around here.

that may be true last season I had 7 does come by late in the afternoon on January 29th, temp was -14 wind chill and I had my selfbow that day, the does came by at 28yds and I didn't take the shot because it was too far for me with the selfbow but it was good seeing that many deer moving together at the end of the season.

I would imagine being set up near a bedding area to catch the deer coming in from being out all night would produce some sightings though.
