Hunterdude64, in response to your question about WhippenStick longbows: They are excellent bows. Craftsmanship and quality are outstanding! I own two, and love the way they perform and shoot. I own other top quality longbows from well known bowyers, but have to place my WhippenSticks at the top!

Just make sure that you get a longbow that has a grip that matches the way you want to shoot. Your options and choices after that have more to do with waiting times and dollars than anything else. There are many many good choices and very few bad ones.

Chad makes a great bow!
Also...Chuck at two tracks makes a Longwalker that will impress you no doubt!...plus he's a pretty swell guy.

Ah...the ultimate question...which longbw? Find a bowyer that makes what suits you. There are many out there. I. just had one custom made by Steve Abbott.

As you can readily see from all of the above posts, you need to qualify what you mean by the word longbow. Not trying to be a wiseacre, but longbow means different things to different folks.

I recently bought an "old" Holm longbow, kind of an Osprey prototype, from a fellow Tradganger, and I can't say enough good things about it. Chad worked up a couple of new strings for me, and it's a dream to shoot. Only problem now is, I'd like to try one of his longer bows - if you get the Goshawk, let us know how it works out.

Abbott Longbows
I have never talked to an Abbott shooter that didn't love their bow!
