I have never shot the TC but own a 60" buffalo. The buffalo has been the best bow for me so far. Critters just don't last long if they get in range of the buffalo!

As of now… 2 piece takedown RH TC
-As high a grip as Jim will do on a TD
- On the limbs I think its called action wood (plywood) with bamboo center, but the wood thats green, brown and black camo type colors. I want a lot of green and just a little black and brown.  Gonna let Jim have his way with the riser, I just want it with brown and green and a little black wood.

Sounds nice. I like those sort of camo looking bows. I've never seen one from Big Jim. I've got a Buffalo that I really like.

I have owned a few Thunder Childs and I have shot the buff. I prefer the TC.

I own a buffalo and have shot a thunderchild.  They are both great bows.  I think the TC is as quiet, maybe even quieter than the buffalo.

I have a 62" Buffalo Bow and a 56" TC. Like them both, but I find the TC a little handier due to the length. Also, the grip is a bit slimmer on the one I have. Both are super bows, though, and you can't go wrong with either one. Big Jim is quite a craftsman, with an artist's eye.

Funny, reading this thread today... I told my wife earlier today that my two favorite bows (lately) have been my used Buff and TC. These two are the only used bows that I own and they get shot a lot.

Big Jim is truly an artist with his work and his customer service. Jim's bows shoot as well as they look, and that's pretty nice. I do buy all of my arrows from his store and anything else that I need that he carries.

I have a bow being built now (another bowyer) that I ordered a good while back, before I had my TC. If I had my TC when I made the order it would have been a 2 piece TC instead of the bow that I went with.

Enjoy your new bow when it comes in. Make sure and start a new thread with pictures

It states you are from LA/MS. I live in south Ms north of Baton Rouge and you are welcome to shoot my 58" Thunderchild if the drive is not too far for you.
Having done so much, with so little, for so long, I can now do anything with nothing.

I have both... Been shootin' my TCs exclusively for 2 years now. Love them.
Might bring a Buff on a pig hunt in a week though!   :bigsmyl:

I know I'm not helping!
Seriously, amazing bows, both. Do yourself a favor, buy it 2 pieces with a beaver tail handle.

I am often asked about what I like the best, Buff or Tc...one or two piece.
My answer is nearly always the same "The bow I like the best is the one I left in the truck the day before" I find it easy to switch from one to the other. I also rarely build a one piece for myself and although the majority of my traveling is by truck nowadays, It is very handy to have the TD option. Nearly 80% of my "custom" customers agree with that.

The best advise I can give though is when shooting  whatever bow you choose, try to put your full concentration into the target and not the bow for at that moment, it is the most important thing!

Thanks for all the kind words....feel free to keep talking  :)
