Published Archery Opinion in the Baltimore Sun
« on: September 12, 2007, 01:23:00 PM »
Gang, I haven't seen this posted here as of yet but I wanted to make everyone aware.

I just read a post on another trad forum which had this link posted.  I urge everyone to at least read this article, whether you respond to the author or the news paper itself is up to you. Articles as one sided as this one can really stir the pot and make problems for our fellow bowhunters traditional or otherwise.  Hope its ok to post this link.  Tim

Hey Tim, we are thinking alike!  I posted it on the Politics forum.

Here is my post regarding the article.  I tried to keep it civil.

This article should be called: "Stop Marylands Publishing of Uneducated Opinions", which is more factual than the statistics that were stated supporting its original title. This article goes to prove that higher education teach so much, and that you might wanna give second thought to enrolling your child at that particular community college. In his article you can clearly see that his anymosity goes far beyond bowhunting, but to all hunters. His blatant use of misguided and incorrect facts to fuel the anti bowhunting fire just shows his disregard for factual reporting, and anti hunting sentiment. I hope the paper that published this article will take a long look at there columns before publishing them. You might as well have Cindy Sheehan righting about Military Affairs.

Thank you for posting this.  The Baltimore Sun is known for their one sided political agenda.  Its sad that somehow this person has gained a foothold in Maryland's Wildlife Commission.  I'd like to ask this smarty pants college professor just what he propose be done to help control Maryland's evergrowing deer population.  Nonlethal alternatives are a joke.  And what exactly are the credentials that qualify this person to determine what is best for the animals and people of Maryland.  What a macaroon!  I may be writing the professor an email.  His email address is at the bottom of the article.
