hair arrow rest question?
« on: December 23, 2013, 08:03:00 AM »
I've always used velcro rests but am about to install sealskin on my bow.

Am I correct in that the direction of hair growth should be oriented away from the archer so the arrow has the least resistance and most consistency upon the release of the arrow?

Thanks.  That seemed to make the most sense in my mind.  I've had bows with hair rests before but never paid attention to that detail before.  Now that I'm installing some, I wanted to make sure I was getting it right the first time.

I've been using cow (not calf) with hair, and the stuff wears like iron. I've used the seal skin in the past, and although super slick, didn't hold up as well as I would have liked...........Art
