Mystery ranch metcalf or 6500??
« on: December 26, 2013, 10:39:00 AM »
I've narrowed it down between these two packs.  I'm going on a week long DIY backpacking hunt for elk.  Anyone have any experience or feedback on either one of these packs?

You can always make the 6500 smaller, the Metcalf can't get much bigger.  I've got both and use the Metcalf for day/weekend stuff.

I noticed on the metcalf you can put a quarter between the pack and the NICE frame.  How do you load meat in the 6500?

-those two outside pockets come in real handy on a week long backpack/hunt. Very easy access for raingear or insulation in a pinch.
