AD Tradlite-X-Lite's?
« on: December 28, 2013, 02:41:00 PM »
I have some Tradlites, but they are still stiff for some of my older 30 something pound Bear bows. Has anyone used the X-Lites? They are rated 25-40 and I assume they'd work well.

I have not but let me know if you want to part with those Trad lites.  :D   Loving the ones I got from you.

I sure can pile a lot of point weight on the lites so I would think you could make the x-lites work.

I have some black lites that seem noticeably weaker than the wood ones. If you don't get some x-lites to try be the expo, you can get one of my black ones to try out when you come to town.

I was going to bring the family over to cabelas and see if you were around but to much ice storm stuff to deal with at the farm.

Todd,
Sounds like a plan. I'll be at K-zoo, likely on busy Saturday.
I'm on a leave from Cabela's due to daycare/kid issue's, but if you go, mention me and hopefully Jason, Brad, Ron or Nash can get you setup.
A few hours ago, I went and ordered some X-Lites blind from 3 Rivers. I'm sure they'll work for something.
I do have some of the new wood grain Easton Axis that I'm willing to part with. Let me know if any interest. I have in both 500 and 600, yet they are still stiff on some of my light weight stuff. I wonder if the taper helps on low weight bows. For example, my Grizzlystik Sitka's fly good out of most light bows, yet they are listed spine .510. I assume the longer Sitka's also make the difference.

Update-

I got the Trad X-Lites in and shot them in the basement. Using the 26gr aluminum insert provided (not the common 100gr brass AD insert), the first bareshaft shot out of fantastically refinished 35lb 1959 Kodiak was absolutely dead nuts perfect straight. I used a 150gr target head and the bareshaft comes in right about 500grs.

I like a heavy arrow for close range deer with 35lbs and I'm thinking when this setup is matched with a 150gr double bevel Werewolf 2 blade that it will zip right thru a deer at 12 paces.

I'll try and get some pics of the bow later. Copicasso (Todd Hill) refinished it and it's magazine cover worthy. That bow is named Brown Sugar.

I'm stoked about these shafts for light weight bows.
