First Batch of Kid's Arrows

Here is my first attempt at making my son some arrows. These are made from wooden dowels from the big blue box store. He picked out the colors. He's only 5, but he can't wait to shoot them as soon as they dry. He likes to go "bow-ing".

Veru nice. I picked up some points and nocks from 3 Rivers so I could build some 1/4" diameter arrows for the kids. I found a place online that you can buy 25 piees of dowel for like $18.00 shipped.

Thanks. These came from big blue store. They were 5/16 dowels that were 3' long. I also used the points from 3 rivers. That's a good buy on the dowels. I think I gave a $1 per dowel but I got 2 arrows per dowel. I think they are 22". I broke one while attempting to straighten it by hand.

Ya just cant beat good old Ramin Dowel Rods! I still make Arrows from them! I have my Cedars, but if I bust up a Ramin Arrow on a Stump, or other Extremely Tough Object, like Concrete  , I sure havent lost much that way!! The Price be Right!!

5/16 dowels cut to 22" will be really stiff for a kids bow. I use 1/4 dowels and the push on points from 3 Rivers.
