Thanks guys, I don't know if I could have scripted a better hunt for a final day of season... (Except maybe making a kill) I dropped my brother off at his spot and proceeded to make my way down to where I was going to hunt for the evening. As I snuck my way down to the creek bottom I made sure I put my nose to the wind and crept slow and quiet. As I looked at a possible set up spot I heard a familiar crunching. As I looked through the trees I could see a couple of does walking and eating away from me. I tried grunting a couple of times to no avail. As they continued to graze away I thought I'd try to move closer since the wind was still in my favor. I made it to around 35yards or so and the deer spooked. I thought it was from me but they made a quick turn and came right back past me just out of range not appearing to be really spooked. I could hear them in the brush just across from me for about another half hour or so. I finally managed to get a shooting lane cut and get my chair set up. I was already pumped from my encounter with the does. When a I sat in my chair I heard the familiar crunch again. As I gazed through the trees I could see another deer eating and making its way my direction. When he raised his head I could see it was a fork horn buck. My heart started to race as the buck closed to around 35 yards or so. He continued to feed in a spot that offered no shot but I could see him well. While still watching the fork horn I heard another crunching when I looked to my left a tall 6pointer came out of the thicket. He was out of range but heading my way. Now my heart was was beyond racing, I have two bucks working their way towards me as I kneel on the ground and I'm just waiting for one to step into one of my lanes. The younger buck began to make his way to a trail head that led to a shooting lane just to my right and the bigger buck started to follow. I was able to get turned so as to get a shot on the trail the bucks were headed on. Just as I thought they were walking straight into my lap when the younger buck decided to "wrastle" he turned and began to spar with the larger buck. Then began a show I've never witnessed myself. The two began sparring and locking horns, then went to slamming each other on the ground and knocking saplings around. It was INCREADIBLE. The match would go back and forth, then the younger buck would do something really neat. He would disengage then do what looked like a play bow and run a huge circle around the clearing like what my younger dog does to my older one when she is really trying to get him to play. After the loop he'd square off and re engage the bigger buck again the the scene would repeat itself. Over and over they'd spar then the youngun would sprint circles grunting as he ran, once in a while he'd even bound then go back for a fight. As hard as I tried to wish it to be neither of them ever gave me a shot finally the bigger buck got fed up I guess, (or just felt playful) and chased the smaller one away. All in all, no shot, tag soup again this year, but I was able to see and be a part of something increadible
