Which carbon arrow?

I am shooting a Stewart slammer that is 52# at
my 30" draw. I have been trying a 400 spine
Beman with mixed results. I am new to carbons
and wonder if something else might work better.

I'd look at the .500 spine carbons... the ce150 heritage is 10 grains per inch and is an outstanding arrow...you'd probably be pretty close with 125grain tip at 31" arrow.... sounds like a good question for shawn leonard...hes the carbon guru on here...steve

I am pretty close to you.  I shoot 48lbs at my draw and the 500 eastons fly great.  I shoot beman MFX, and axis camo full length with 125 grain heads.

yup beeman or axis 500 with 125grn heads and 5" fletch

Yup the Easton with the 125 grain point(.500) but that would be kind of lightweight. I would shoot the heriatge 150 at 31"s with 125-150 up front. You need a deflection of around .490-520 in that range and than play with point weight. Shawn

I don't agree with 500s.
I have set up some Easton 400s for my new Gamemaster that is 54# at my 30 inch draw.  The arrows are 31.25" with 145 grain points and bareshaft perfectly.  A 30.5" GT 500 with 85 grains is REALLY weak bareshafted.  At 30" thay are not much better.  The 500s fly great out of my Great Plains B-Model TD that I draw to 48# at 30 inches.

You are in the middle.  I am currently working on some 400 Beman Hunters that I am going to use either 50gr. or 100gr. inserts on and then tune the point weight to get to about 480gr. at 30.5 inches.  I expect to have about 200 grains up front.

I suggest the Carbon Express CX200 if you don't go with the Arrow Dynamics.  The spine on that CE shaft is .458 and would be right in the sweet spot.  They are pretty light at 7.3gr./in. but if you put  a 100 grain insert in and then tune the point you should get to 450-480 grains total.  High FOC carbon arrows fly really well.

I've been shooting GT5575 Traditionals. They fly good and they aren't black...kind of a woody look to them. Those Dynamics are spendy! You guys must think they are worth it though. I love the idea of 9.5 or 11.5 gr. per inch in a carbon though.
