While having deviated from the bows listed in this thread, I am thoroughly convinced that their is a wonderful bow in the classifieds that is special and is priced far below market value($325).

That would be the Mohawk and may warrant a serious look.

If the seller would ship overseas and you can handle 52@28, then this bow presents an exemplary opportunity. These bows shoot with other esteemed bows and even better than some that command a $1000+ price tag.

I have owned and shot all three, and I think the Savannah is one of the best bows out there. They come up used from time to time in excellent condition for around $300.00.

Have shot allthree. Savannah isaprettybow.  Allshoot well.  I did get a Maddog and it settles in quickly and consistently.  There is a thread about shipping a bow to NZ.  the shipping cost is staggering.  Somebody recommened a two or three piecetocut down on shipping.investigate, and there are great take downs too

I have owned two Savannahs and I couldn't get rid of them fast enough once I tried Custom bows like Dan Toelke's Whip, A&H, JD Berry, Leon Stewart's Slammer, just to name a few.
JD Berry Argos 64" 48#&28"
Toelke Classic Whip 64" 46#@28"
Acs one piece 64" 46#@28"
BlackWidow PLX 66" 46#@28"

I must disagree with slickhead on off the shelf bows. I used them for years. I am a small man with a 24 draw and never get the power I need from an off the shelf bow. My height precludes using 64 or even a 62 inch bow affectively. I stand 64 inches tall.
I wanted to shoot Longbows but at my height that was a problem. Mike at Maddog built me a 52 inches long bow that hits right where I aim and has the power I want to hunt with. So remember, not everybody has a 28" draw.

+1 For the Maddog. I bought a "Mountaineer" model....can't speak highly enough of that bad mutha. Mike doesn't go out of his way to make it pretty (unless ya ask him) BUT his bows are quiet, consistent, and fast. Do yourself a favor and get one....it'll make ya a believer.

Mike at Maddog is definitely the way to go.  Good luck!

I have shot all three a number of times.  I tried to get a friend to buy either a Montana or a Savannah, he hated them, he bought a longer r/d that was better than both.  I bought a Prairie Predator and after I shot it and found what arrows it liked. I gave it away, to the youngster that I ordered for. It will grow in power as he grows in draw length. It is deadly accurate and deathly quiet.

I have a "plain jane"Prairie Predator and it shoots great.

Speed is good, it's quiet, and smooth, and accurate.

I own prettier bows, but it is what I selected and I more than got my money's worth.

I would hunt with it anywhere, it's built really tough.

And Mike will get it to you way faster than most custom builders.

I have a 60 lb Montana and will not be retiring it anytime soon. It might have to share my attention with one Edward Boyd's bows from Trinity one of these days.

I had a Montana and a Savannah, I should have kept the Montana.  Keep in mind the grips are completely different.
Having said that, I'd go with Maddog and have it made the way you want.

I have a Montana and couldn't be happier with it. Its very affordable and I don't feel like I have to baby it in the woods like I would a prettier custom bow. Having a bow made just the way you want is a plus though...and Maddog could make that happen.

I have had all three, at one time or another, and if I were, going to buy a bow tomorrow it would be a Savannah.
