One more day-- in Missouri...
« on: September 13, 2007, 09:59:00 PM »
Saturday at "dark" early will find me way back in my honeyhole stand. I am a bit excited just to be back deer hunting after a long crazy hot summer; but this stand is special. Sad to admit I never wanted to work this hard to chase deer. Getting deer killed is much easier out of my other stands that are up on top of the oak ridges. This stand is way back in under a bluff that I can't even get a 4 wheeler down. Sign is everywhere, my stand is placed and my POC's are perfect. All thats left is to touch up my Zwickey's and wait on Saturday morning. If I don't fall down the bluff I plan on sneaking in early and staying as long as need be.

Good luck to all who start the chase on Saturday morning.

The weather should be right on in the am. Good luck. I will be out but maybe only with a camera. my trail cam is showing only a doe or two and a fawn. They are what bring in the big boys later.

Goodluck John,

I plan on being in my treestand at O dark thirty, trying to put the smack down on a big'un. Gonna give my Sitka gear a try, at the forecasted 45 degrees tommorow  AM it should be comfortable. Goodluck everyone else going in the morning

I watched the woods wake up Saturday and put them to bed tonight. No deer for me, but it was awesome to be back after them. I hope it doesn't warm up too much next week, if not I am chasing deer every evening.

Let us know if things work out for you in MO.

Good luck John, may you have a bountiful harvest!
