I've actually been offering the checkering for a year or so. Started doing in in 2012. Its tedious, but it sure looks sweet.

I'll be bringing a Wolverine FXT snakewood/ebony handled bow with snakewood veneers and a checkered handle. 60", should net about 53#@28". It's a pretty one!

Spurs, you can't really check through the throat of the grip because the lines of the pattern of the checkering get distorted going through the radius. It's tough enough going over the longer radius of the palm of the handle!
