I got some beautiful vintage arrows in the mail today, and I noticed when I put them on the string they were'nt snap nocks.  I shoot 3 under and have always put a brass nock a couple of 16ths under my nock so I don't put pressure on the arrow.  Without pressure the arrow falls off the string.  The arrows are so nice I hate to snap off the orginal nocks.  Wondering if heating them up with hot water would work, or is a little pressure on them ok.  I've always shot snap nocks any suggestions?

I shoot three under and only use mercury nocks and self nocks, this is how I do it.  I only use one nock on the string and I push the arrow up against the bottom of the nock with my fingers, this keeps the arrow on the string.  I have done it this way for years and it works for me.

Heating Mercurys with hot water and squeezing the nock will work. Just be careful how much you squeeze.
