I used some cherry KoolAid to make some nice red feathers and really like them. My question is, what other flavors have you used and what color did you get as a result? I am using natural turkey feathers. Thanks

This is what Snag sent me and it worked great. I now have red for my long bow and would like to make blue or bright green for my recurve.
Just put a drop of liquid dish soap in some simmering water and soak your feathers in it to clean them off. Then rinse off. Change out the water in your pot. Add the dye (Cherry KoolAid works good) and a tablespoon of white vinegar in the water in the pot. Bring up to a simmer. Add the cleaned feathers and stir until they soak up enough dye to give you the depth of color you are looking for. Take them out of the dye and rinse off in cold water. Lay on paper towels to dry. Or do what I did and put them in a gallon ziploc bag and put a hair dryer (don't tell my wife!) in the bag and dry them off. Hope that helps.

I've made orange, blue and yellow feathers using Kool-Aid with good results.Use blueberry for blue feathers, lime for green. The color of the package is close to what your feathers will look like.Just don't use the "invisible" kool-aid.I'm still looking for those dang feathers.

What amount(packages) to what amount of feathers do you use to get the deep colors.

Jack: My experience has been the time the feathers are left in the dye itself. A higher concentration would not hurt if you want really deep colors.
