Talking Tabs
« on: February 05, 2014, 09:12:00 AM »
I have been using a Bateman tab for quite a while now and it has been workig pretty well for me.  However a friend recently recommeded one made by Rick ******.  In looking at his I noticed that he offers one with the finger spacer and one without.  I have never used a tab without a spacer.  Anyone out there use this type and can offer any advantages to it.  Or is it just a perference to some.

If I am understanding who's tab you are talking about, the spacer is removable.  Two small screws hold it on.  You could buy one with the spacer and if you don't like it, just remove it.  I have one that I traded for recently.  Nice feel on the string and smooth release.  Had to trim it slightly to suit me, but no big deal.

I'd think those that shoot 3 under would remove the spacer?

i shoot 3 under, and build my own tabs. i use 3 layers of goat leather!!
super tough, thin, and just lasts for ever- had one for the last 3 years- and looks like it is a week old!
best tab i have used yet,
slick, doesnt get a groove in it, waterproof etc!!

I keep forgetting about you people that shoot 3 under Ryan.    :knothead:

Death Adder tabs are what I was referring to.  The 3 under tabs don't have a spacer, but the split finger tab has a removable spacer.  If a person wasn't sure if they would like a spacer or not, this tab can switch hit.

I one I was looking at is offered with or without the the tab for split finger shooting.  TI have my spacer come off one thime whial shooting and tried it without it.  It seemed tp pinch the nock into my finger and was not very comfortable.
