I could be wrong but, I was under the impression that a "plunger" is a device that screws into the side plate that basically makes your side plate (side point of contact for your arrow) adjustable for tuning purposes, and is used WITH a "flipper" style raised arrow rest (bottom point of contact for your arrow). The use of this system is so that you can more easily and effectively tune your
bow to your
arrow. (If I'm wrong guys, please correct me so I'm not misleading anyone.)
That being said, my choice would be to shoot off the shelf and strike plate, and tune my
arrows to my
bow. FWIW.
