Heading to Texas
« on: February 18, 2014, 03:07:00 PM »
Leaving Maryland in a few to chase some hogs in Texas.  Hope to have plenty of pics to share when I get back.       Meeting a good friend out there, he's flying but it's a 25 hour drive for me.

Good luck Terry and have a great time, and safe travel to and fro. May all your arrows find their mark. Are you taking the new to you Centaur to hunt with?

Hey T, best of luck with your hunt, ever been to Texas before?
It's not a Bicycle friendly state this time of year. If you go to East Texas it's mud, if you go to the hill country it rock and cactus, if you go to west Texas it's sand and cactus and if you go to south Texas it's thorns, cactus and sand.
Better bring plenty of flat fix,

Roy

Good luck. Looks like there won't be any snow during your trip.

Where in Texas? Lots of hogs down, very few counties without hogs. Good luck and post 'em!

I leave in one week to south Tx.  My first trip down south in a lot of years and first to chase hogs and Javelina.  Sure will be nice to get out of the snow and cold of the Yooper.

Where did you find a place to chase the hogs?  Getting to hunt on private land is the GOLDEN TICKET down here.  If you know someone that has some, keep them as your friend or family member.  If you don't, you're gonna have to pay, sometimes a LOT.

Keep us updated, I'd like to hear all about it.  Good luck to you and your hunting partner.  Hopefully you can put several swine on the ground while you're down here visiting.
