New timberghost
« on: March 03, 2014, 07:09:00 AM »
After months of researching, and scratching funds together, I finally pulled the trigger and ordered my first custom bow. A 56" timberghost static tip recurve, mountain camo actionwood.  Now for 6-7 months of pacing the floor anxiously awaiting it's arrival.  Hopefully it will be here just in time for next years whitetail season.

I know there has been a lot of discussion about these bows on here, but would still love to hear some comments from those of you that have one.

Thanks a lot guys,

Jake

Someone sent me one to try a few years back when he was just getting off the ground. I thought it was a well built bow and solid design, very quiet and good performance. I've heard he's improved his skills quite a bit since then so it's an even better option now than when I saw his work. I know he's rapidly gaining a "following" and that doesn't happen in the current market unless the bowyer deserves it.

I lucked out and found the funds for the in-stock 1 pc. "Smoke" that he had on the Sponsor's classifieds. Since it was in all the specs I was looking for, I went ahead and took him up on his offer to put my name on it.   :D

If everything went according to plan for him this weekend, he should be shipping it out to me TODAY!!   :bigsmyl:    :bigsmyl:    :bigsmyl:

I'm so completely stoked about it, I can't put it into words!

As soon as I've had a chance to shoot her some, I'll be posting about it for sure!

Congrats on the new bow!
-Tony

What JC said. I had that pass around bow for a few days also. I thought the bow was well designed and constructed?

I'm wanting one as well. How did you decide between the hybrid limbs and recurve limbs? I'm wanting one as well.

Can you tell I want one? Lol. How did you decide on the riser length as well?

I have always been a recurve guy, tried longbows and just always find my way back to recurves.  I spoke with Ken about the riser length, and he said it was mostly a matter of personal choice on the 11" or 13" riser.  I went with the longer one, the sight window is a little taller and closer to the one on my current go-to bow.  Plus, the taller riser pleases my eye just a little more.

What's your draw length and what draw weight did you order?

I draw 27 inches and the bow is 53 pounds at that length.

I've owned one and you certainly will not regret it. Kent makes an excellent bow.

I just ordered a 54" TimberGhost Hybrid longbow TD myself 2 weeks back. I am still back and forth if I should have went with a 52" or 54" recurve as I have mainly been shooting recurves lately.I draw 27" and went with a 52lb bow.

I have a one piece smoke longbow on the way.  I got to shoot a lot of Kent's bows before making an order.  The smoke was my personal favorite.  It is all a bow should be.
The take donws he has are really nice.  I am just more of a fan of the one piece.

Just sent my money in today to get on his ever growing list. Still not exactly sure what length/wood I want for my static recurve.......
