Going crazy here
« on: September 18, 2007, 10:25:00 AM »
Well guys The season on public land came in on  the 15th,but,I had to work.I was asked to fill in at work on the 16th which was a Sunday so I didn't mind.(no Sunday hunting on wma)Well,I should have been gettin off of work at 7pm Sunday, but at 2pm I was on my way to the hospital. While trying to lift a large hydraulic cylinder,a welded on pad eye broke and the hook and block of the chain fall smacked me in the side of the head.It fractured my cheek bone, and has me on the couch for a few days. The season gets started, the weather is the best you could ask for, guys around are reporting the deer and hogs are moving, and I know where there are tons of acorns falling on the wma,and I'm laying on the couch surfing the web, staring at my bow which is patiently waiting to send some arrows down range!Man I gotta get out of here!  :banghead:

Could have been much worse. Be thankful you didn't lose more than a few days of deer season,

I feel your pain.  Last year I filleted my middle finger on my shooting hand open the day before the season started.  Couldnt draw my bow no matter how hard I tried.  Like VM13 said, a few days of deer season lost is an alright price to pay for what could have been much much worse!!  Take care and go get um soon!!

Welcome  to the club. I am recuperating from elbow surgery on my bow arm. Can't even pull my lightest bow yet.

What, you got smacked on your anchor side? Makes your arras fly left 'til the swelling goes down..   :knothead:
I gotta wait til October, so I may be a bit less than fully sympathetic here.  ;)

Your lucky you didn't get killed! The past 6 seasons my time in the woods has been very limited I was working just about every Saturday no hunting on Sunday in Jersey . I have two kids in college one just graduated Tuition this year for two kids is 58,000.I can't pass up time and a half to go hunting. Some times you have to sacrifice. I glad you weren't seriously hurt you'll heal count your blessings. The short hours you will spend in the woods will be much more productive watch! Heal well!Oh by the way who welded that I BOLT!!?? Suppose you were under the Cylinder wowsers!
