What is the relationship between Martin and Damon/Howatt?

Is DH a subdivision of Martin?  or ???

Never question a man's choice in bows or the quality of an animal he kills.  He is the only one who has to be satisfied with either of those choices.

Martin bought out Damon Howatt in 1976 but wisely left the Damon Howatt shop intact.  Mr. Howatt was killed in a car accident in 1966, having retired in 1963.  Larry Hatfield was Howatt's general manager/lead designer since 1961; but I think he's no longer a part of the daily works.

When the original crew in Yakima was dissolved or retired as Martin moved the production to Walla-Walla the general feeling is that it did not improve anything at all.
