I haven't heard anything about bow making, but I saw a Staghorn ad for custom fly fishing nets. My first "custom" bow was an XP60 made by Bill Pyle. Paid $125 for it, brand new. That was in 1983 when Bill was down to only a few bows a year. The market, unfortunately, had dried up for his talents.

The people at Staghorn are gearing up for production. Doing trial runs with the machinery, making laminations and risers. It will happen pretty soon.

I know Mike Steglia was offering a remake of the original Staghorn bow. Check out Bruin Bows...

Would be nice to see Staghorn come back again. I still have my first recurve, a Staghorn, bought in the mid 60's with paper route money. Still a good shooting bow!

My first bow was a Staghorn, in fact Bill Pyle is the person who gave me my first archery lessons. Still have a couple of Staghorns hanging on the wall and my wife shoots one of the Staghorns every week in our traditional league. As a side note Bill has been gone several years now,and now his wife Ellie just passed away this last fall. Bill always said Ellie was the better archer of the two, never got to see her shoot.
