Cleanup......

Hello, last weekend Dad gave me his Bear Kodiak recurve. Now I grew up shooting my little fella longbow as Dad shot the kodiak...... Once I was big enough I shot it for years. It needs cleaned up.... No serious scratches but just not as shiny as it use to be. What could I safely use to clean it up? Also need to replace the flat coin as well.... Any ideas where to get one? I know maybe it's a bit extreme but the bow has more sentimental value than anything although the limbs look to be in great shape what would I look for to make sure it's safe to string up and shoot? Thanks

and ive used rubbing alcohol before but i also sprayed satin finish afterwards...i would guess that something like murphys oil or other wood cleaner would work well

There is a lot of information on the history and collecting Forum.
The coins, if yours is lost are replaceable.
The largest decision is to do it your self or to pay a little to have it looking like factory new again.
best of luck

I just cleaned my old Grizzly with soap and a damp cloth after it dries I use Johnson's paste wax on it, that shines her up like a new penny.
