Has anyone tried the full length tapering like described in the latest issue of TBM?

Yes, I do it all the time.
You will need a spine tester of some sort.
Mine is home made.
I start with a 23/64 shaft, at least 10# over my desired spine.
Just tapering 10 inches on rear of shaft usually only affects spine by 2-3 pounds.  But when going full length check spine often!  It can change dramatically. Usually use POC.
