Izzy, I am always thinking about going hog hunting, lol.  I was more trying to see if there were any hints about what would help the next groups that are going, since the hogs are probably getting concentrated by the high water in the swamp.  From what I hear, that can be a very good situation.

CJ,  I don't know if I would want to push my luck with the gators.  My knee won't do me any good in the water, lol.

Just a few more comments on the tribe's hunt at Wild Things...First of all Andrew and crew have thought of everything to make these hunts a great experience. Let me just sum it up this way as far as accommodations, food and service -  If my wife knew how good I had it at this hunting camp, my next family vacation would cost a lot more! Way better than any expectations.

The property is unique and well managed. We saw deer, turkey, armadillos, alligators, snakes, squirrels, all kinds of birds and of course hogs. There are multiple stands and feeders setup if you prefer that type of hunting. I have to get out there amongst them though and spent my time afield just sneaking around. I had opportunities and should be processing meat right now. No excuses, I just did not get it done.

There are lots of hogs on the property and most of the tribe had chances to harvest. The hogs were in the high dry areas in the swamp or bedded in the pines during the day. We were moving them around and what a noise they make running thru the swamp water!

This is, especially for us "northern tribes", a great way to experience hunting a challenging animal in a really unique southern environment. Here are some views of the area hunted...

Wow, that's a lot of hogs.

Wild Things is a great place, and Andrew is a wonderful host.

I'm hoping to make a trip down there in May, and closing the deal this time.
