What pound and spine?

I am wondering what pound bow(name can be included as different bowyers make them with different degrees of center shot and such and the spined arrow you are shooting in it. Also, please put the length of the arrow.

Example, #53@28 BW MAIII with a .340 spined arrow cut to 30.5" with 200 grains up front.

Note - I draw 30" so add 4# or so to these bow weights (all @ 28" std).  31" BoP.

Note again - the Explorer, Root and RW Hunters are all cut to center and tolerant of a range of spines.  I use 55-60# cedar and fir with the Root & RW Hunters with blunts for bunnies.

You're leaving out the one variable with an exponential effect on dynamic stiffness of the shaft.

I note that I have several bows of similar shape and identical draw but they do not like the same arrows at all.  As you note - it has something to do with the cut to center and the brace height, etc.  

Just an excuse to make more arrows!

Hi!

I shoot Gold Tip Traditional XT 400s. They are cut to 31" and 125gr point weight plus about 20gr insert in it. I draw 29.5".
The very same arrows fly nicely and straight from Bear Patriot 50# hybrid and Falco Trophy 40# R/D longbow. Both bows have shelf cut 1/8" from the center.
I found that curious but i have heard same thing from others that shoot these carbon arrows. Very universal shafts.

My reason for asking.  

I have a BW that is #53@28.  I had a .400 spined arrow that I was bare shaft tuning, well I kept trimming it down and down and down, next thing you know, I am down to 29.5 and it is still showing slightly weak.  When i tell others this, i often get, "something must be wrong", as some manage to shoot .500 spined arrows out of their #56 BW(i find this hard to believe!).  

So i swapped to a Beeman ICS .340 and bare shaft tuned it, it flies like a dart, but I did wonder if i seemed to be overspined in others opinions/experiences.

I have been shooting the .400 Gold Tip XT's from their inception.  I cut them 29" from the valley of the nock to the back of the point with 145 grains tips, field and broadheads.  I draw 27" and they fly l perfectly either bare  shaft or fletched with 3 5"  shield feathers from my 60# and 61# Black Widow MAII's and my 57# Robertson Vision Falcon II.

Maybe i'll try paper tuning again. Do you shoot split or 3 under?  Would this matter?

Split but I'm not sure if it matters.

52# @28" BW PSAIII 60".  I use 74# spine POC cut to 29.25" BOP to the nock with 125 grain points.  Fly like darts.
