I prefer one piece recurves (58" - 62") and R/D longbows (62" - 64").  If I traveled by plane, I probably would lean towards a takedown, but I like the looks of one piece bows better.

I shoot Asian type bows normally.  Currently it's a Scythian style, but I want to move up to a Hun style for greater draw length.

Interesting how many of us report our affinity for shooting the Hill style "American flat longbow".  I just received a 66" 55#@28" Big Five string-follow that I can't put down.

I do some playing around with recurves and R/D lonbows but for serious shooting and bow hunting, my constant companion for over 30 years has been the Hill style longbow,

I have take-down and one-piece recurves of the wood riser variety.  I've had several longbows and while they are nice they shoot differently for me.  I can pick up most of my recurves and shoot to the same spot, but going from recurve to longbow took a little adapting.

Ultimately I do my best shooting if I stick to one bow, although it could be one of several.

Prefer R/D longbows over recurves.
Maddog Mountaineer 57# and Prairie Predator 52# Wow!, Samick Sage 35 - 60#,  I'm learning.

I have gone back and forth from recurve to longbow often during the same year. Last year I stuck pretty much to my 53 lb Blacktail recurve from mid-summer on. I felt I was shooting about as well as I ever have.

This winter I have been consistently shooting my 62 lb Pronghorn mainly because of the poundage. Plus, it is such a solid bow.

I love my Blacktail's graceful limbs and it is a great bow, but my Pronghorn is just plain stout!

Bottom line, I think I need to just pick one and
stay with it for the year.

I have shot all types but prefer very mild R/D and Hill style longbows. The bow that I shoot the best right now is a 64" Robertson Purist 58# @ 26
