For those that didn't know, Kuiu has released a new pack called the Ultra with lighter bags and a new frame. Extremely light but durable enough to be run over by a Tundra while bridged on the curb as show in this clip. Very entertaining video!

Biathlonman

Looks like it may suffer the same issues as the first generation, which is bending under a heavy load and digging into your back. It might be the greatest thing since sliced bread but when he is holding it in his hands and flexing it that looks like a problem to me. I know I can't do that with the composite stays on my Kifaru.

biathlonman, this frame is much stiffer and stronger than the previous frames. I had a chance to test it out at SCI with weight in it. It carried the weight very comfortably and the frame does not bend and dig into your back.

Dallas what one would you recommend the 3000 or 6000' keeping mind that I have a young sion that would do most of the lifting.

I watched their promo and they talk about torso length.  I am not familiar on how to measure my torso.  At 5'11" I would think I have an average frame/torso?

Height has little to do with torso length. You can take two guys of the same height, one with long legs and a short torso and the other with shorter legs and a long torso and there can be a huge difference in torso length. You can google search "how to measure torso length" and find some good instruction. I will not buy a pack that doesn't have marked torso adjustments on it. Torso length is absolutely critical to proper pack fit and comfort. I won't name brands but when I have contacted some of the big hunting pack manufacturers, a lot of them could not even tell me what torso lengths that their packs would fit! I have not seen the Kuiu pack yet, but if they are talking about torso length that is a very good sign.
