Hey Mitch,
Fleet Farm also carries it. Just look at the contents to make sure it says Permethrin as one of the ingredients.
I was told it doesn't kill the ticks instead they get "hotfeet" and jump off you.
Also read if it is -20 below for more than a week it would kill them so if that is the case we should be tick free in our frozen North.
We'll see about that, not holding my breath.

DAMN! I should have followed my own advice. I was out shooting in the back yard a few days ago, and since I live in town, I did not figure ticks would be a problem. However, I picked one off my hip later that night. They are an issue 365 days a year.

Took long walk yesterday scouting new hunting property.  Long pants, long sleeve shirt and jacket and it was raining and I still got 2 Ticks.
That was in South East IN.  Going to look into Permethrin.

My buddy Steve and I spent 5 hours scouting new hunting property in northern Indiana today and each had a few ticks on us.  My yellow lab was treated with Frontline and had 40 or so crawling around his head and collar area.  The ticks on the dog seemed to be looking for a new home and not imbedding on him.  We stopped about every 15 minutes on the way home to remove ticks from the dog.  I thought these were deer ticks but not sure after seeing the different life stages.  I'm going to use Permethrin from now on.  Jim

There are a few state sponsored labs in Tx where you can send your ticks. I've sent in a few over the years and then the lab will send results back to you. Its crazy to see (on paper results) the things these ticks are carrying. Some labs will only take ticks attached to your body, some will take any tick that you send in. PM me if you want the lab info I'll try to dig it up.

jr1959-
Switch to Advantix in lieu of Frontline. Advantix has Permethrin in it for dogs and works 100% against deer ticks for your dog.
Frontline is marginal at best for Deer Ticks, the Vet pushes them however my Vet admitted to me it is not as effective as Adantix when it came to Deer Ticks.
