I am having trouble with the wood sticking at the most narrow point. It seems to sand off pretty easy. Your thoughts???

Don't rush the glue. I not only let it dry but cure. some times for a few days.
Also really baby the tips. I've broken my fair share.

Very cool brutha! What type of weight does that add to a cedar shaft? Do you do Douglas fir shafts too? same question on those... we got the long bow safari in oregon this years so i gotta start thinking about woodies.... and those are some nice ones.

That depends on the the length of foot and material. I've made them with Purple Heart, Ipe, Brazilian Cherry, Wenge, Walnut, Blood wood and yellow heart. My favorite are the laminates.
Those are doug fir from Surewood Shafts.

Those are very nice. I really like the purple heart, but that's because of TCU.
