I got a 62" glass Centaur in the mail yesterday and with zero tuning shot about as well as I ever have at the Kentucky Trad Fest. Just a couple little things I would change about it if I ordered it myself, but as is it's a shooter!

Guys,
today I took the Lil Centaur to the 3D shoot with Horse Creek Traditional Archers in GA and MAN it just performed beautifully!!  Keeper!!!  I'm SO thrilled with this one.  I didn't even have to think about it being a new bow.  Felt like an old pair of boots LoL.  It was my first time on their course so my score was on the lower end, but aside from the interspersed misses and bunch of 5's, I actually got some nice 10's and a good handful of 8's on some not so easy shots.  I couldn't have been happier had I been shooting my longer Triple or my 68" Stewart, this little Dark Matter bow was that nicely mannered.  Hats off to Horse Creek for making a real challenging course!  They know how to mix it up great- uphill, downhill, obstacles, moving targets.  SO much fun!  The woods there are just gorgeous!  I'm gonna join the club since its less than 30 min from my place.  I only discovered it end of last year and have finally had time to attend one of their events.  Great bunch of folks and turns out two of them live in my neighborhood in Tallahassee!  Small world.

That is a beautiful Centaur!

I have a 30 1/2" draw, and once in awhile find myself looking for a shorter bow.

John Maus at Lone Wolf is a bowyer who can build a great performing shorter bow.  I own his Kayapo, and have owned his Autumn Storm bow also.

Gregg Coffey at Java Man Archery builds some great-looking shorter bows, although I haven't tried them.

Sometimes I think that bowyers who have longer draws better understand the mechanics of building a bow that will perform for longer draw folks.  For example, Ron King at Fox Archery has a longer draw and builds wonderful bows.
