If you have some birds patterned, go for the early hunt before they're disturbed much.

If not, go for the later to give you more time and a chance when the hens are nesting and a wandering Tom still looking for a little romance.

Of the two, I'd put my money on undisturbed, patterned birds. Location is the best caller any day of the week.

I went with the first season, alot of pressure in our area. Weather is iffy now but seeing alot of birds. weather for next week looks good to me cool nights, 50-60 days. My opener on monday is 38 overnight and 55 during the day. My daughter has second season so I will be out for both, her time is limited so we went the whole month to get her out more of course she is smarter than me and is hunting w a gun.

Thats how it looks for me opener 30% chance of rain with a high of 58°. Havenr seen many birds but tracks are there.  I think the little voice in my head is my new long bow wanting its first action

First hunt is usually your best bet... but this year whoknows what mother nature will throw at us!!! I took my chances and opted for the 234 hunt to give myself some extra time, even though the birds will be smarter, just need to be patient.  Good luck to all!
Too many bows to list, and so many more I want to try!  Keep the wind in your face, and your broadheads sharp.

234 for me, too. With my luck I'd get maybe 2 days to hunt otherwise. With the weather lately, we may be in for some good May hunting...

I always go for first hunt, but I've killed birds all times of the season I like first week or last week, this year I'm going the 21st and I'm taking my fiancé the last three days I expect good things both trips
All we have to decide is what to do with the time given to us.

I personally go with the ZZ hunt.   After seeing the Tom I saw this morning, I am itching to get out there .    Good luck to everyone.

ZZ for me get after then early as long as you don't have to shovel the white stuff to get out of your driveway.
