No matter what you buy I would ditch the BDU's.  I currently use Sitka gear Assent and 90% pants and a 90% jacket.  Mine is old and was made when Jason was Sitka.  Matched with different weight merino wool I can withstand the different temperature changes you may deal with a Sep elk hunt.  I love the DWR in the Sitka stuff and have hunted in a misty rain for hours and still been comfortable.  It isn't rain gear and I would not head west without some.  Ask people that hunted Colorado last spring how much rain fell.

For that kind of money, I want water proof, NOT water resistant. Most of that stuff is way over priced. $500 for a jacket and pants.  I have Gor-tex waterproof jacket and pants that cost $200.  I've wore it all day in downpours on a couple different hunts and didn't get wet. You won't stay dry in your $500 DWR repellent gear. Too rich for my taste. I can't see spending all that money and having to buy rain gear too. I'll buy one set of clothes that does both.

I switched from BDU's and KOM to Kuiu for bowhunting  elk in Colorado (my only bowhunting passion) and I couldn't be happier with their clothes. To date I have their Attack Pants, Merino 185 base layer, gaitors, and Chugach rain gear (pants & jacket). I have found them to be extremely well designed, constructed and durable. Yes, I would prefer them to be made in the USA but I get over it every time I wear them.

I use the Stick and Limbs line for years. Works in all terrain conditions. Durable Poly-cotton fabric, fabric available for DIY projects, clothing is made in USA by Clarkfield Outdoors in MN. They also make a turkey vest which is a bargain and can be altered as a carry vest for other hunts. The garments hold up very well. Depending on the weather, you just wear additional stuff (merino underwear and lighter cheap fleece pullovers or vests) under or in very wet grass in the morning, a pair of silent gaitors. When it dries up remove and stuff into fanny pack. I don't believe too much in all that 100 synthetic fabric stuff for everyday use. If rain, then MT50 Goretex from Cabelas. Use it for years and it is worth the price.
