Well I've got a cold, we woke up to 38 above & snowing. Along about 3pm I couldn't stand it anymore so grabbed my Green Kodiak Hunter, some arrows & went out to shoot a few in the backyard. It was still snowing so I only shot a few before I got wet & cold. It wasn't cold enough for the snow to stick so I kind of got wet.
Anyway my first shot was from 17 yards quartering at a black bear in my back yard. I've had this 3-D bear for about 10 years & he's been repaired a couple of times so he's used to my antics. The first shot took him right where the heart would be & about 4" behind the shoulder. He growled turned & snapped at where my arrow hit, but it was a pass through. He ran off 30 yds & crumpled mid stride. Well at least that's what I imagined!
I shot a few more times & managed to shoot right under my Block target from about 30yds, then getting wet, I came in, dried my bow wiped my arrows down, Woodies of course, & put on one of my Fred Bear hunting videos.
Not a bad way to spend a boring afternoon.
Thanks for coming along on my adventure.
