Bow fishing southern NY or surrounding states?
«

I'm new to now fishing but got the gear to give it a whirl. Does anyone have any recomendations as to where one would go in southern NY or CT or even northern NJ and eastern PA that they would be willing to share? As I said I am a noob to fishing with a bow but want to try it out badly.
Thanks in advance,
Don

Not sure where in New York your at but the State has no shortage of carp. The Mohawk and Hudson rivers are good. Saratoga Lake, the Erie canal, Lake Champlain and a host of other rivers and streams. I'm sure somebody else will chime in and help you in your quest! Best of luck!!

I'm not familiar with Westchester but when I lived in Ulster Co, I Bow fished the Hudson river, Wall killriver, rondout creek, Catskill creek and once part of the esopus.
You can wade or walk the edges on the smaller streams. The hudson was best from a boat at night in shallow areas.
Here I walk the Erie canal and fish the Mohawk river, There are a ,lot of spots up this way if you ever want to go, shoot me a message. If you have a boat, it will open a lot of options as well.

I'm back living in Westchester now. I fish some of the small tributaries of the Hudson, plus the NYC reservoirs. I have a boat on the Muskoot, and do pretty well there. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

Don I have a spot for you in Greenwich CT. You'll need a kayak or canoe to access it.
PM me and I'll let you know the details.

The Susquehanna River (Southern Tier of NY has a lot of carp and some are hugh! Mostly wading the shallows. I need to get out more and find some haunts, but it used to be fantastic hunting!

Almost any fresh water in the tri-state area. Carp are every where.
