New bow, improved skill, and respect for Big Jim
« on: June 18, 2014, 11:08:00 PM »
Lots of you know I've been hanging around here untaught and having drama with my #50 Martin Jaguar takedown for about 4 years now, asking a billion questions. The 50 was giving me some trouble so I sold it and bought a #40 Samick Sage. I asked in another thread about arrows for it and Big Jim pm'ed me a few times.

Picked up some 30" GT Trad 1535's and guess what happens. Out of the box, untuned, shot a 1 3/8" group from 22 yards. I have NEVER shot this good of a group before. Now, I can't blame the Martin too much. It was a bit strong for me since I don't shoot every day. But Big Jim, wow! Right on the freakin' money on these arrows! The only thing I'm not sure of is I was shooting at the bee in the middle, they hit the bullseye above it.

Sad to say, I didn't buy these arrows from BigJim since I could get them locally, only some target arrows for my other bow. But I plan to order more arrows! Jim has blems.    :)

Anyway, a big thanks to Big Jim and his advice! If you need the right arrows, I am happy to recommend him highly!

BJ knows what he's talking about.  He's helped a lot of folks on here. Oh, and he has lots of good stuff for sale at reasonable prices.

Big Jim is a great guy.

Fun to be around and a big help to a lot of us.

I will be buying some supplies from him at Comptons this weekend.

Somehow he always manages to get $500 or so from me every year.
