Who use's arrow holders?
«
on:
September 23, 2007, 11:38:00 AM »
Been using the rubber kwik-loc arrow holders but seems some bows it fits well and others not so good because of riser and leather wrap for grip.I have seen, i believe some put it on facing the back of the bow and then release it with the finger when needed,i always liked it facing belly so when you draw the bow it releases it self.I could cut it down to fit so it's not in contact with leather wrap.Anyone have other ways that they use to hold arrows in place?
Thanks Ron

I use a little pointed piece of plastic mounted on side of riser and use a rubber band to wrap around arrow. When drawing the rubber band will release quitely.I make my own but 3-rivers sells them.Kip

Kelly, I use the same one you are talking about. If need be, I just trim it a bit with scissors, they work great.

You can trim or try using velcro instead of the self adhesive it comes with. If you stick the one side of the velcro on the bow, you can place the holder at a little crazier angle to get it out of the way of the shelf or whatever. Seems like it take less velcro than sticky to hold it in place, that way, the entire holder doesn't have to be in total contact with the bow, Steve

I've been using a Sta-Jac holder for a few years now and really like it. I think Bohning is selling it now.

you can usually put it above the grip and angle it downward. just leave it loose. put it on a arrow, arrow on the shelf and play with it till ya get it right..then glue it on with contact ( I re use ones I pull off a bow) or use the adhesive back. I use them on longbows and recurves, although I do trim some of them for a better fit.

I don't have a shelf so I just use the index finger of my left hand (bow hand)

Joe,
Does that just fall off when you draw? No noise?
Also, what month is that calendar on?...it is a little out of focus, but looks like a trophy

Not sure what month was up when I took the picture, but it's on September now
The toothpick holder is supposed to fall off by itself when you draw, but in my experience it doesn't always do that. So I either take it off and stick it in my pocket if I have time, or just flick it off and let it fall to the ground. They're cheap enough to make by the dozens

I just trim up the Kwiklok and it works great. I wouldn't put it on the back of the bow...too easy to forget it's there and pull the string away from the arrow when you draw. On the belly it just pops off when you draw.

Kwik-loc works great on my Trails End bows. I could see where it might be a problem on others.
