Limb tip repair
« on: June 25, 2014, 12:42:00 PM »
Hi gang!

My uncle's old recurve is missing a strip of the laminated wood at the base of the limb tip. Should I be concerned or is will this not affect the functionality of the bow? It seems to shoot just fine. Thought about putting some wood putty where the little sliver of laminate used to be. Any recommendations?

Largely decorative but quite functional by keeping wear and tear off the bow. I'd replace it; you can use antler, laminate, bone, horn or hardwood.
