- ROD JENKINS Indy Clinic a Success! - More Pics Added
« on: July 01, 2014, 10:20:00 AM »
What do you get when a guy from Alabama comes to Hoosier Land and teaches people from 6 different states about proper form, shot sequence, and the mental side of traditional archery?    :dunno:

BETTER!...and if you put in the time, do the drills and stay focused; a lot BETTER!!

Thank you to our host The Outdoorsman Sport Shop in Greenwood, IN, the committed participants and of course; the man; Rod!

It is clear you don't become a great archer or bowhunter in a 2 day clinic but you can get on course to becoming one.  It's not the bow or the arrow it's the shooter.  The shooter who trains to be able to execute the perfect shot every time.

I think all feedback was very positive and everyone would agreed great use of time and money to invest in future hunting or competition success.

Sometimes you need someone to just get you focused; explain the mental aspects and physical discipline needed to execute a "perfect shot".

We have our homework and drills; now the journey begins!

Thanks again to Rod and everyone!  More Pics added later.

Rod's a great teacher and has system that works... as long as you're willing to work at it.  I attended Rod's clinic last year and I've got to say that it was absolutely the smartest thing I've done regarding archery.  After the class, I spent about 2.5 months doing the blank bale drills before moving on to the bridge exercises.  During that time I sent Rod a number of form videos for him to look over and had several phone conversations to discuss various aspects of the shot sequence.  He was always willing to look at and critique my progress, which is obviously a huge benefit when you have someone who shoots at such a high level giving you pointers.

Do the homework and you will definitely see improved results... it's not going to happen overnight, but if you stick with it your shooting and confidence will get better.

Like Bisch mentioned, absolutely the best money that one can spend in archery... I like to say, the search for my perfect bow is over, most of them are perfect once you learn to shoot them properly.

Since this clinic I am having to change the way I shot a bow. It was extremely hard at first and I admit Im still struggling but it is getting easier. I really  feel that this is going to make me a better shot. My shot seems cleaner already. Im going to follow Rods instructions and see where it takes me.
John, thanks again for putting this together.

I just got done doing drills tonight.  Been a long and tiring weekend between shooting drills, family, house to do list and work session at new hunting lease!  Just a few final pictures to share from the archery clinic last weekend.

Everyone enjoyed it very much and hopefully I will  see you again next year!!    :archer:

Rod is top notch and gives you all the tools you will need to be able to shoot a perfect shot every time. It will take a lot of work but I'm really starting to groove my shot after just a week of the blank bail. Thx again for making this possible and critters beware this fall.

It was very informative.  Doing all these drills ain't easy, but sometimes hard work is required for improvement....
