Sockrsblur, I have been using B50 for years and to me whether you pad the loops depends on your draw weight and draw length. I would think anything above 45# and a draw length of 26" or above you might want to pad. Over the years I have dropped in draw weight and draw length, from 46# to 41-42#, and drawing 25". With is combination I can easily shoot a 12 strand B50 string with no problem without padding. After I make my strings I string them on the bow and let them stretch for about 3 days before serving. I don't like to hunt with a string that I have just made so I keep extras that have stretched sufficiently that creep would be a minimum while in the field. I also carry a roll up measuring tape and bow stringer so I can check when in the field. Some may disagree with this, but to each his own.
