About four years ago, I stopped by Rons, For a small talk on my way home, As I was getting ready to leave Ron hands me an older longbow, He said it was a wall hanger and the bow had a hard life of hunting and target, trick shooting, As I looked the bow over in the back of my mind I told myself, One day Ill fix her up and shoot it, The bow was one Ron, Used many times. It was Hill style RH/Lh 66" 70#, well last summer I ended up hurting my right hand on the farm, And could not draw and hold my big 50-80# bows, After a short talk with Ron and Tom frick, They both told me to shoot Left handed, It just took time and many hrs of shooting, But could be done, Well I didn't have any LH bow, I looked and that bow stuck out, I took the ol girl off my bow wall, Too the shop I went, First thing was to remove the belly glass, The top and lower glass came off in one strip,(the lower glass had to be fixed anyways) I then took fixed the strip of glass, Then sanded both lower and upper glass down, Then sanded down the belly wood with my table sander, The limbs at the string nocks had a great tapper, Reglued the glass to the bow, The next day I cleaned and sanded the sided of the limbs and put a string on it, The tiller was great, Bow came out (was 70) 59@28, Took the bow out shot it held up and still is to this day, Soo far Ive shot a number of fish, some rabbits, and all LH too boot, This bow is far becoming my go to, In fact next week Ill be putting on a hr trick shooting demo with this very bow, I just wanted to Thank Mr.Longbow for such a fine bow, And for all the help ya have been. Later Ill post pics with some of the game Ive took with this bow....
