Paper targets?
« on: July 27, 2014, 07:09:00 AM »
I need two or three different paper targets with raccoons on them for an upcoming night time coon shoot.

I need them so I can cut them out and use them to trace out targets on cardboard.

Anyone know where they can be found?

Google Raccoon. You will get plenty of pics to choose from.

I thought of that but I need larger examples to cut out and trace on cardboard to cut out.

I checked several archery/mail dealers and can't seem to find a couple to buy.

Anyone out there no who sells them or where I can get a couple.?

This may be a long shot but if there is a field archery club/range near by they might have an extra.

M60 I checked our club and they don't have any.  I was hoping some one knew or an archery shop that had one or two that I could contact.

If I bought one from 3 Rivers, one target would run me about $10.00 with postage costs for a target that is printed 8 miles from my house.  Maple Press prints them but they don't sell to the public.

I could even use a beat up used one or two as I am just going to cut the profile out and make carb board targets.

You just need a young artist that can draw the outline for you.

Shadow Drawing:

If you are just doing the outline on cardboard and don't care about other details use a flashlight and put a small outline in front of the light.  Put your cardboard on the other side of the picture and move forward or back to get the size you want.

If you can't find any pm me or email me. I'll design one and cut it out on vinyl. You coulda use itthe as ayou template. I've made elk, deer, bear, and mtn. goat so far.

Jon, they're just easy to make.  Use your printer to print 1/2 or a 1/4 at a time, paste to your cardboard and cut.  Print one any size, draw squares on it, draw larger squares on your cardboard and draw it in matching the lines in each square.  Use the flashlight thing, perhaps in reverse:  cut out a small image of a coon, shine the light through the hole and trace the outline.  If your club has a 3D raccoon use the flashlight on it to get an outline to trace.  Get creative, you can do this!

A friend of mine projected an image on a wall and his kids drew the outline on paper, which was transferred to cardboard. Then, they painted in the appropriate colors. Man, that was a cool dragon.
