Adirondack Bear Hunt ??
« on: July 31, 2014, 06:55:00 PM »
Gonna chase Bruins with a longbow in a couple months up in the Adirondacks...was wondering if there are any hardcore bear hunters that have killed a few Adirondack bears? If so, fill me in!

Remote , thick, beautifully inaccessible country...

Nice country.......tough hunt. Hard to pattern them in that part of the world and a bit early to play the mast crop if there is one this year. Good luck! Keep us posted........

I agree with Ron.  Find the food and water, find fresh sign and you should have a good chance at seeing one.

I agree on mast crop, beechnuts dont look too prevalent so far..no oaks where I hunt..cherries are  plentiful..anyhow..I have begun scouting for sign, and will continue to do so..

They do love the cherries........I find sign many times along creeks that are on a edge, like evergreens [spruce/hemlock]/hardwoods. There is something about an edge........
