Arrows boxed wrong
« on: August 04, 2014, 09:56:00 PM »
Last year I bought a dozen rose city elite hunter arrows at a store down here. Fletched and crested. Also 6 Zwickey Eskimos. 60% off. They were getting rid of inventory. They don't handle much traditional gear. The arrows were $46. The box said 11/32 55-60. I put them up and I just ordered a tru center taper tool and some 11/32 field points. I couldn't fit them in the 11/32 apapter. Turns out the shafts are 23/64! I tapered one arrow and it doesn't seem to fit bad. I will spine check them. My recurve is 55# and  my longbow is 60#. Do you think the field point is seated well?

The taper you cut should be the same, no matter the diameter of the shaft, and the taper of the point should match.  The point may not go all the way to the back of the taper, but the taper should fit and fill it just fine.
