Belly mounted limb advantages?
«

Tell me about the pros (and cons) of limbs mounted on the belly.
I did a search of Pow Wow and surprisingly found very little information.
Thanks for any feedback, Skychief.

I own 2 Black Widows and I think the design lends itself to a more stable platform. How much more is probably subjective. There are a few designs that push the arc backwards if you will that have a bad reputation for being unstable shooters.

From my understanding it allows the 'illusion' of a higher brace height because the pivot point of the grip is moved forward, so supposed to be more stable on the draw and less risk of arm slap while still allowing the limbs to achieve max performance.

It also allows you to shoot a shorter bow than usual since the grip is further forward.

Lol, skunk is right I forgot about that. You wanna see a crazy short bow check out a vintage Black Widow flight bow with belly mounted limbs and an overdraw grip.

I wondered the same! Broke down and boought my first belly mounted bow, a Kwik Styk static - used but in great condition - 56", 58 lbs @ 28".
Smooth, sweet shooting bow! The shorter lenght shoots like my 58 and 60" bows and easily handles my 29.25" draw with ease.
Can't say I will hang up my "convential" bows yet, but definately is impressed with my first experience!!
