Cutting shafts

I'm having a bad brain fart... Need cut shafts, which I haven't done in decouple years....am I cutting from back or front???

Cutting Beman MFX 400 ans Easton Axis Traditional 400....

I know Griz Stik Alaskans get cut from the front.....

Please help clear my feeble brain

I have always cut from the front end of the shaft.

Parallel carbons can be cut from either end.Tapered carbons like you said cut from front end only.

I used to think carbons should be cut alternating between the front and back of the arrow to ensure it came out straighter. In practice I haven't been able to see a difference in spin testing so now I just cut from the front.

i have cut from both.  If i already have the inserts in stalled, i cut from back.  If i have feathers on, i cut from front.  It doesn't matter, just whatever is easiest(this is referring to non tapered shafts)

You could compromise and take it out of the middle!! LOL
I really think it does not matter. Just depends on feathers and inserts. I shoot aluminums so I remove inserts and cut from the front.

I cut from both ends. I read somewhere that slight imperfections are more common near the ends of carbon arrows so that is why I do it. One day, I hope to be able to shoot well enough to discern a difference!

Jasper, that is what I have heard as well.  I shoot a lot of competitions and the guys i talk to will trim both ends evenly.  If they want to take 1/2 off, 1/4 from front, 1/4 from back.  Me, i don't shoot well enough to worry about all that.
