Black bamboo

Phyllostachys nigra
Common name: "Black Bamboo"
............

Has anyone ever worked with this type of bamboo? I read it grows on Oregon and Washington. Would it be suitable to use for a Hill style bow? I really like the combination of colors and it's appearance. Thanks and God Bless  ;)   Craig

If it is large enough to make lams it should work just fine. I don't know how deep the color goes. I assumed it was just the rind or outer portion just below the rind.
Make the most of all that comes and the least of all that goes!

You should ask this on the bowyers bench.
Plant a fruit or nut tree today, and have good hunting tomorrow.
