Excellant shooting! I really like head shots if you can get them. I am a groundhog hunting fanatic. I'm after them almost every day throughout the summer.

In June I had a few foxes come in and clean out my groundhog hunting area. I mean they totally wiped them out! I am depressed.

I did manage to kill 6 before they became fox food. The last one made my 250th sod poodle with a bow in almost 30 years of chasing them!

As for eating them: "Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms" (Outlaw Josey Wales)

Nicely done!

By the way Bisch... while I have never eaten a "ground piggy" my father grew up eating them and tells me they are quite tasty if prepared correctly.  That said, I will stick with venison!

Pasture pigs are good eating for sure. Kill one thats been on apples and you've got some real good stuff.

I've done two (admittedly trapped and not shot with trad gear) and highly enjoyed the resulting meals.  Both were brined overnight and then smoked on a cooker.

Congrats on your first woodchuck.

Since moving to Ok. I haven't seen many " sod poodle's " ( that's funny ), none in the woods or fields only along some of the roads. I chased them some in Pa. while living there, killed a few but nothing near Red Beastmaster's total.
SS, you did good. Congrats.

While I have experienced little success hunting ground carp with bowfishing equipment, several of these challenging critters have succumbed to big heasds. These criiters are a favored quarry.

Note: Fine table fair

Congrats!!!
