There will be of course far more large white-tail bucks coming from the counties in Indiana.
I was born in KY but spent the first 37 years of my life in Indiana. Great place, super deer hunting (these days), lots of turkey, dove hunting, and of course the wonderful grey and fox squirrels.
I love the western mountains but the seasons are sure shorter out there.
Best I could figure out for Idaho is general seasons end October 31st (Indiana is just getting good then). Some controlled hunts go into November with a closure of Dec. 1st being he last time to hunt.
Here in KY, no matter the temperature, I'll be guarding a favorite cedar tree the morning of Sept. 6th when our deer season opens. The first few hours are always plenty cool.
Here in the midwest (or northern South) we will be able to pursue our passion until mid-January.
Still though I think Coeur d'alene, ID is one of the most beautiful places I've ever visited!
